Perks...

So as I mentioned before there are perks to working @ Compusa. One on my personal favorites is new releases. I'm talking about DVD's. Several times a month usually 2 weeks before the release dates we get new DVD's! Movies like "Capote", "Good night and good luck", "King Kong", etc. And as it just so happens we use a computer with a DVD burner in our receiving process....
*Winks ; ). I tell ya since i started working there i haven't paid for a DVD in months. Plus all of the blank dvds i use are store funded so... really... compusa is paying for my dvd collection lol
great isn't? Yeah if i knew how to use bittorrent better ( and if my neighbor had better wifi bandwidth) i would start a bittorrent tracker : P But something tells me that that is stepping over the line. Weird Huh? That my conscience will allow me to "technically" steal copies of new releases from my employer and yet wont allow me to share them with others?
weird... To me at least ....

Compusa

So i work at compusa. I handle the returns of defective merchandise as well as factory recalls.
One of the perks of this job is (besides fucking around in my office all day) is that i get to see all of the old discontinued merchandise. Why is this good? You ask? Because compusa drastically reduces the prices on old discontinued merchandise. Example...
A HP dv1175us laptop with a Pentium M 1.6, 1 Gig of ram and a 100gig hdd and a dual-layer dvdburner... Decent specs right? Guess the price. 1000 dollars?, 800? Nope.

599.98 Retail Price. That's right 599.98 why you ask? Because the new models are better, faster, and cheaper then this old laptop. I mean, would you pay 1500 dollars for this notebook
when you could get a Core duo for 100 dollars more?

of course there are only a handful of these computer left in stock though out the entire company.
but this is just one example of old stock being sold for way less then what compusa paid for it
(by the way compusa paid 1529.07 for this laptop the are losing 154% of margin or gross profit)
sucks for them but great for me!
until next time... Guy

Work + itunes + shufflle = vw commercial??

So @ work today i didn't want to take the time to make a playlist for the day ( as is my usual routine) so i chose library and hit the shuffle button. And guess what song was the first to play?
Styx "Mr. Roboto". Man... it knocked me back into 2000! The first time i saw that great vw jetta commercial with that guy doing the robot while waiting for his friend. Man!! i loved that commercial i am trying to find it to post it here, if you know where i can find it please leave a comment
